The Nashigan Tour featuring Jilian Linklater and i.am.james – 7:30 PM Performance
Growing up Jilian Linklater had aspirations to become a pediatrician. After winning a trip her junior year in high school to Nashville for CMA Fest and finding out you could make a living writing songs, Jilian’s plans changed and she redirected her scholarly goals to a songwriting major at Belmont University. The idea of a life as a pediatrician had officially been permanently replaced by the life of an artist.
Jilian has had song placements in the Amazon series ‘Eat the World’ with Emeril Lagasse, A&E’s ‘Born This Way,’ and Degrassi. She has cuts with Christian recording artist Jason Gray, Mama Dear and country group South Haven. Her song “Walking Stories” currently has more than 5 million spins on Spotify.
I.AM.JAMES
For years I’ve introduced myself, and my music, under my birth-name.
I grew up singing, writing, & dancing, on the fresh water shoreline of Lake Michigan. Currently based in Nashville, TN, I find myself using the emblem “i.am.james.” to introduce my songs to the world.
I am an optimist.
An aquarius.
A feminist.
A lover of the place where art meets music meets movement.
After attending Interlochen Arts Academy and playing a hand-picked national tour with other songwriting students, i.am.james. was accepted and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. After one year of studying under professors such as Paula Cole and Livingston Taylor, i.am.james. was offered the opportunity to continue her studies overseas at Berklee’s much smaller campus in Valencia, Spain. While studying at Berklee Valencia, i.am.james. fell in love with Western European electro-pop music and the culture surrounding it. It was between weekend trips to neighboring countries that i.am.james. began to hone in her skills in recording and production.
In 2017, i.am.james. relocated to Nashville, TN. On 10/12/2017 i.am.james. released out her debut single ‘GOOD DISTRACTION’ as an independent artist. She is responsible for both the writing and production of the single. ‘GOOD DISTRACTION’ quickly gained international attention and was noted as being “heart-ache you can dance to.”
i.am.james. spent the next year developing a dreamy “honey dipped and glitter-coated” brand and expanding her catalogue. With an on-going goal of incorporating other artists and multi-media aspects into her music, i.am.james. created collaboration between her music and visual artists, dancers, and other musicians through live shows/exhibits and film work.
